Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television host in America as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. With her trademark spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides simple, easy-to-learn techniques for the at-home cook on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell studied and worked in the best New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the culinary landscape of Italy. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking in her early years. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for restaurant management after she earned the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was the place where I experienced the most enjoyable time of my life. I was unable to learn enough, didn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. When she was in Italy, Chef Burrell gained an appreciation and knowledge of Italian cuisine. This had an enormous impact on how she views food. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of kids who struggle. Additionally, she is a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate, where she promotes awareness of young diabetics. As an inspirational speaker, she makes trips across the country to talk about her love of cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career that she feels so fortunate to have the opportunity to share with others what is most important for her.
