Sasha Allen, the openly-transgender woman who sang transgender, making it to the Live Shows of The Voice made history when they got there. It was the first time in the past 21 seasons of The Voice contests Sasha had made it beyond the Battle Rounds. They are the Newtown, Conn. duo is now in the Top 8 of the contest! Sasha made it known that he is transgender, when they presented their audition packages at the Blind Auditions. According to Parade.com the decision was not an easy decision. Sasha made the transition in highschool, and admitted that it was challenging to disclose such a vulnerable side of himself before so many people. "But this past week during fan week], seeing the support of fans and their reactions and the way it affected those around you really demonstrated that the decision was worthwhile and it was the right move, regardless of it being hard to come up with." "'Have you ever Seen the Rain' is one of the songs that was among the songs that we've been wanting to play on the show for a really long time," Sasha told Parade.com. We played the song before The Voice even existed. It was an amazing surprise. It was a song we thought of and we came up with thoughts of how to set it up. "I was pleasantly surprised at how well the fans nailed the tune."
